On June 11, nearly 600 BPS teachers participated in the launch of the Two for One! Laptops for Learning Exchange & Student Information Intro Sessions. These sessions enable classroom teachers to exchange current L4L laptops for a new, dual-platform MacBooks to support teaching and learning in alignment with the district’s Acceleration Agenda, as well as to learn about the new, district-wide Student Information System that will be implemented next year. These district technology initiatives advance our efforts to ensure that all BPS students are college-ready and success-bound in the 21st century.
While participation in the L4L program remains voluntary, all current laptops will need to be returned to OIIT by June 30th. If you currently have an L4L laptop, register for a two-hour L4L/SIS session on MyLearningPlan at www.mylearningplan.com <http://www.mylearningplan.com/> to receive a new laptop. To get ready for the exchange, make sure you visit www.bpstechnology.org <http://www.bpstechnology.org/> . The site will help you learn how to back up your data (and restore it once you get a new laptop), what you need to bring on the day of the exchange, including links to required documentation, and how you can get your laptop repaired in time for the session.
Contacts: For general questions regarding the L4L exchange, contact Krissy Matthews at kmmatthews@boston.k12.ma.us. For questions regarding the SIS implementation, contact Christine Invencion at cinvencion@boston.k12.ma.us. If your assigned laptop is need of repair, contact the OIIT Service Desk at 635-9200.

The energy of the day - and the excitement & engagement of teachers - was amazing. Thank you, teachers and our partners, for making the day so successful!
