Boston Public Schools hosted the Adobe Youth
Voices Spring Showcase 2012 on May 31st at Jeremiah E. Burke
High School in Dorchester MA.
Mayor Thomas M. Menino and Patricia Cogley from
Adobe Youth Voices attended and spoke at the event which consisted of over
a 200 youth artists and displayed close to 130 inspiring multimedia products
created in the BPS Adobe Youth Voices classrooms this year. The youth artists
had an opportunity to discuss their work with invited guests from the Boston
Public Schools and the community.
The Program also featured an awards assembly
that highlighted “BEST of BPS AYV Projects”. During the assembly the
Mayor congratulated the students. Other featured speakers included message from
Superintendent Johnson, Ligia Noriega-Murphy (Asst. Superintendent High School
Level, Melissa Dodd (CIO, Office of Instructional and Information Technology)
and Patricia Cogley (Senior Program Manager, Adobe Youth Voices).

Congratulations to all the BPS educators
and the 900 students from all the middle-and high schools who participated in
Adobe Youth Voices in school year 2011-2012! We are very pleased to
announce that BPS has received grant funding from Adobe Foundation to continue
the program in school year 2012 – 2013! We are currently recruiting a cohort of
50 new and returning Adobe Youth Voices educators to participate in the
summer professional development training and the year-long project. For more
